Sponsored Pilots

Matt "TeamDefiance" Roper

My name is Matt Roper and I'm the President of The Other Guys FPV and the OAS Hobby Team Manager. The Other Guys FPV is nationally known and is one of the largest MultiGP Tier1 chapters in the state of Colorado. We hold regular races drawing pilots from around the world with upwards of 57 pilots participating. I work in conjunction with other chapter leaders to promote FPV racing in the community to provide the best races in Our Region. Our chapter will be hosting regional qualifiers and are planning a multi-state race in Grand Junction CO where pilots from Nevada, Utah, New Mexico and others will be attending. This is the 2nd year The Other Guys FPV will be participating in STEM fest which we are invited to race, and talk FPV with children in our community. I have been flying RC since his childhood and his passion for the hobby quickly evolved to Helicopters, then quads and now racing FPV. I travel regularly to races nationwide, I have also been to XDC in Las Vegas, Midwest Drone Battles, AMA Nationals, Phoenix Cup among others. I will be attending Midwest Drone battles again and anticipate a heavy race schedule for this upcoming season. I am is a skilled builder and have made build videos for quads. I also have an extensive collection of videos I have made highlighting OAS hobbies.

Vishal "stellarhopper" Verma

Vishal aka stellarhopper is a budding FPV pilot who equally loves flying and racing his quads, the technology behind them, and the community around FPV racing. As a Software engineer by profession and an electrical engineer by academics, he loves the technology aspect of this sport, and strives to experiment with the bleeding edge of the sport. As an adrenaline junkie, he loves the thrill of flying and racing. Vishal bought his first racing quad in spring 2016, quickly outgrew it, and built his first custom one in only a few months, and has never looked back since then. Vishal has attended a few high profile events such as the MultiGP race at the Sebring Aviation Expo, and the Midwest Drone Battle 2017, and looks forward to rubbing shoulders (or props as the case may be) with the best pilots in the sport in future races.

Zachary "Dedicated 50" Roper

Zachary Roper aka Dedicated 50 is an aspiring fpv race pilot who balances being a full time college student and racing biweekly perfectly. He has been around the fpv scene for around 3 years now starting from long range and now the racing many have come to love. Zachary's main chapter has been the other guys group in Dacono, CO run by his father Matt "TeamDefiance" Roper who is also a OAS Sponsored Pilot. He is attending the University of Northern Colorado and flying in the collegiate drone circuit next year. He hopes to one day be one of the best pilots in Colorado!

Byron "Claymore" Thurston

My name is Byron “Claymore” Thurston, Claymore is a throwback to my FPS video game history. I currently live in Arvada, CO and work as a 3D Modeler and Structural Designer. I starting flying FPV quadcopters in January of 2016, after teaching myself to solder, build and fly from YouTube University. I trained several hours every day on FPV simulators for weeks before I spent the money required to jump into the sport, I credit this well spent time for my rapid rise to competitiveness with other top national pilots. I am currently ranked in the Top 25 for several MultiGP Universal Time Tracks National Leaderboards and after finishing 3rd overall at the 2016 MultiGP 5B Regional Final I raced in the 2016 MultiGP National Championship ‘Fast 52’ in Muncie Indiana.

Chris "FlyKux" Bevans

My name is Chris Bevan aka Flykux(pronounced Fly-Kucks)and I'm a homegrown Floridian. Graduated from UCF in 2011 and work in the healthcare IT industry. Picked up a blade inductrix in early 2015, liftoff in late 2015, and started FPV with a homemade build early 2016. I have had a passion for flight since seeing the Blue Angels fly as a child. I had no way to get my fix except PC games like Battlefield and some sims. I'm part of the Orlando RotoRacers MultiGP chapter.  I am a avid Liftoff player. I originally got hooked on FPV after seeing a Charpu freestyle video. Freestyle is what got him addicted, and racing it what keeps him coming back for more! I recently joined the OAS Hobby team and I'm loving it.
